Refreshing Leadership
By VictorM: The New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark... set New Zealand the ambitious goal of becoming "carbon neutral" - reducing its net emissions of greenhouse gases to zero... "I believe New Zealand can aim to be the first nation to be truly sustainable across the four pillars of the economy, society, the environment and nationhood. I believe we can aspire to be carbon neutral in our economy and way of life." I have no idea if this attainable, or what record Ms. Clark has to know whether she's being realistic, but it's refreshing to see a leader layout a bold vision and set goals that demand more of us to enhance life on this planet. I can only hope that she's sincere and does her best to make this happen.

Weed Them Out
By san antone rose: "New Zealand doctors have warned children that jumping for joy can hurt them... Doctors... have called for restrictions on trampoline sales because of the rising number of children being injured while jumping on them." I say give all kids one of those old rectangular trampolines, remove the padding and a few springs, and let these pussies weed themselves out. Our gene pool deserves it.
