Is there no limit?
I have to wonder how far the paparazzi are willing to go when it comes to invading the personal lives of celebrities and their families. Unfortunately, it's not an easy problem to address. The paparazzi used to have some limits, particularly when it came to the children of celebrities. But now that's all changed, and the paparazzi will be the first to cite their rights, but seem like they don't give a damn about the rights of others.
I am starting to understand when a celebrity just loses it and screams, attacks, or calls the cops on the paparazzi. But while the paparazzi are partially to blame, so are the magazines who pay just exorbitant fees for these photos. When one good photo can pay a photographer for a year, there are few photographers who will be willing to listen to their conscience and not take it. The magazines are sadly giving the public what they want. And I'll admit, while I don't read that type of magazine, I do watch stuff like True Hollywood Story on E! network. I also like shows like Biography on A&E.
Who will finally take the higher road? Will the public stop buying the magazines, will the magazines stop paying high prices for celebrity photos, or will the photographers clean up their act and show some kindness and respect for the celebrities and their families?

Margaret Cho's Not Going Anywhere!
I've been a fan of Margaret Cho ever since I saw her live show in Albuquerque a few years ago. What I love about her is how she says exactly what's on her mind and how she doesn't filter her opinions. After taking on the media industry, the image of what a woman should look like, and all the "phobes" and "ists" (homophobes, racists, etc.) she's now taking on the powers that be, politically as well as economically. In her latest book, I Have Chosen To Stay And Fight, Margaret definitely gets more political. I love how she goes after Ann Coulter, George W. Bush, and Rush Limbaugh. Mind you, these are easy targets, and not overly loveable as far as Republicans go. She also comments on people she loves, an unlikely list of women that include Courtney Love and Martha Stewart.
If you want to see how the other side lives, take a walk in someone else's shoes, I highly recommend Margaret's platforms. This is a woman who could use a good pair of purple Doc Martens to kick shit around in. She is a comedian to be taken seriously.

What's with all the stuff?
I've been obsessed with stuff of late, having recently moved in with my mom. Her home is full of stuff, and it's not even all hers! Much of the stuff was inherited from my grandfather, who had so much stuff, that even my grandma gave up during her lifetime and just let him have his own room. And despite being a stickler for tossing out stuff and avoiding junk, even my grandma left stuff after her demise.
So moving into my house has added a fairly small amount of stuff. And you'd think in a home with 4 bedrooms, two guest bedrooms, three living rooms, a two car garage, and an attic, we'd have space for all the stuff accumulated by 3 generations. Every time I've moved back in (yes, there's been more than one) I have done my part to get rid of my own junk. I admit, I have collected all sorts of bizarre stuff, and kept clothing that is unlikely to ever fit or ever be in style again. What can I say, I'm the hopeful type. But now I have a new joy, finding space. I threw a garage sale last weekend, collected a yard-sized garbage bag full of old clothes, and tossed or given away several other items.
But it's not enough! And it's making me mad when I realize how held back our society is when it comes to stuff. We have stuff in our cars, stuff in our homes, we go shopping at stores who only sell one type of item, the storage type. A whole store of stuff to hold our stuff. When we're born, we're born with only the hair on our body, and when we die, we don't get to take much with us, save for the one outfit we're wearing, and what hair we have left. You can't take it with you! What's with all the stuff? I can hardly enjoy the stuff I have because I can hardly find it, or find space for it with all the other stuff in this house! There must be an end to all this stuff and I intend to find it.

Short Shorts
What will you be wearing this summer?
Who wears short shorts — just about anyplace? Lindsay, Nicole, Mischa, Paris and Nicky started the trend last summer, and it has since spread to the runways, the red carpet, even the office. Blame Kristen Johnson and her shorts company Johnson, a favorite with the paparazzi-trailed pack. In just one year, the designer's line has gone from being sold in three stores to 500, from being backed by her boyfriend to having a business partner.Forget denim cutoffs and Gap circa 1986 khaki Bermudas. This summer, it's all about tailored shorts, city shorts, dressed-up shorts. Whatever you call them, they are not for the beach. And what makes Johnson's shorts so special is that they are made from vintage silk, cotton, wool plaid and houndstooth, with a loose fit and a low waistband modeled after men's trousers. The legs are cuffed and fastened with one-of-a-kind buttons.
