Phenomenal

Count RugenBy VictorM:

So Dick Cheney, our rotten vice president, thinks there has been "phenomenal progress" in Iraq. To quote the movie Princess Bride, the source of all wisdom in life: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means, asshole."

This modern day Count Rugen is visiting the scene of the crime (well, one of the many crimes) and S.W. Anderson has this to say:

Birds of a feather: Cheney wasn’t the only high-level Republican war hawk visiting Iraq today. Sen. John McCain also showed up, although he didn’t venture another trip to the marketplace he toured a year ago — wearing a bulletproof vest and surrounded by 100 troops, with Blackhawk choppers providing air cover the whole time. And then, McCain boasted about how so much progress had been made that there were whole neighborhoods where Americans could stroll freely, in perfect safety.

It turns out that marketplace is in an area now controlled by Muqtada al Sadr and considered too dangerous for Americans.

Comments:
While there, Cheney said something that I hope gets tons of media attention, since it illustrates just what an incredible asshole he is.
A reporter mentioned statistics that show recent American deaths in Iraq being up without any strategic gains. Cheney just sneered at the camera and said, "So?"
The blood of our sons and daughters means nothing to him, as long as Halliburton continues to rake it in.
Evil, greedy, war-profiteering sonuvabitch.
