Goodbye, Mr. Spitzer

newsBy VictorM:

So New York governor Eliot Spitzer resigned in the aftermath of his alleged entanglement with a ring of high-priced prostitutes. Considering his prior work as attorney general, and the illegality of the act he all but acknowledged, Mr. Spitzer did the right thing.

He could have saved his job; all he had to do was switch to the Republican party, where he'd feel at home.

Comments:
Madam Heidi Fleiss agrees with you:

So if these charges are true, should this be the end of Gov. Spitzer's career?

Absolutely. You can't vigorously pursue prosecuting these prostitution rings—I mean, this guy made a point of it—and then do this. Get that guy out of office. He's a liar. He has no business being the voice of the people.

You don't have any sympathy for him?

Well, you know, who wants a governor who doesn't have sex? That would be creepy. But you can't be a hypocrite and a zealot. He's made prostitution out to be a horrible crime. Obviously it's not if he was doing it. It's just a business that needs to be regulated so the women don't have to always suffer.

Heidi and I agree. How about that! :)

"He could have saved his job; all he had to do was switch to the Republican party, where he'd feel at home."

Now that his whole life has imploded you want him to add turncoat to his list of offenses and start hanging out with a bad crowd? That's harsh, very, very harsh.

Come on SW, he could join other Republicans and get a group discount. :)

Hey, the Republican nevers admit wrongdoing ("What hooker? Where?") and never resign. Plus, they use their tax payer funded salaries on much cheaper whores. See? The Republicans really ARE better at managing money.

I for one would consider him to be in the correct party already. You know the one that has a reputation for high ranking, adulterating, purgers.

Jakus,

You are either misinformed or you just can't count.

Besides, adultery is not a crime. It's a private matter between couples.

The party that covers for members who have broken the law is clearly the Republican party.

I did not have sexual relation with that...er, OK I did.

That's not as bad as taking a wide stance looking for man on man sex in violation of the law and claiming he's not gay. He's still on the job.

Or mister diaper guy, Vitter, who engaged in illegal activities and is still on the job.

Mister Clinton, on the other hand, went to trial (impeachment) and was found not guilty by the US Senate and lost his law license for his word manipulation. That due process of law was followed in Clinton's case doesn't matter to you, does it?
