To the right of Bush
By The Seminal:Check out McCain's laughable response: "Anyone who worries about how long we’re in Iraq does not understand the military and does not understand war." As Think Progress points out, McCain is at odds here with several top pentagon and military officials. Not to mention the American people... When it comes to indefinite wars and pre-emptive strikes, this guy is to the right of President Bush.

Remember, we cannot quantify Bush as "how far right." Neocons and their policies are not truly conservative right. At least in the modern political sense of the word.
Can be McCain be labeled as a neocon? Or a conservative? I'm not sure. But his pro war rhetoric definitely smells like neocon to me. But supposedly all those folks hate him. So who knows what is rhetoric for the sake of being tough and what McCain really believes and what policies he would implement if he ever (god forbid) became president.
