Why are right wingers foaming at the mouth?

Angry right wingersBy DarkSyde, on possible reasons why right wingers are angry people:

[C]onservatives these days are true believers, full blown ideologues, and their ideology, consciously or unconsciously is a big part of who they are as a person. That ideology has had its chance and failed catastrophically for all to see. And that failure has come at the hands in some cases of people, organizations, and competing ideologies that the conservatives have, as part of their rigid platform, denounced with every fiber of their being as something akin to evil.

The failure of conservative ideology over the course of the Bush Presidency and the Republican Congress is, for them anyway, public humiliation at the hands of enemies they despise. They feel it as personally as if a childhood rival had given them an atomic snooky on the playground in front of their classmates. THAT might explain the vitriolic, unhinged nature of rightwing anger directed at progressives these days, even in the face of the enormous gains they’ve made.

Comments:
It is indeed an idealogy, one as hateful and vitriolic as any except that of the Third Reich. Rather than Mein Kampf, their bible is basically Orwell's 1984: a Big Brother philosophy with every citizen monitored and no appeal from government suppression other than a justice system controlled by the government itself, and a Supreme Leader with all power onto himself.
The Third Reich only lasted 12 years, but that was enough to ruin a once-mighty nation. How far have we fallen under 8 years of Bush & Cheney & Rove? When I was a child the President answered to Congress, the Supreme Court was independent from the White House, even the police wouldn't enter your house without a warrant (which was difficult to get) and anyone declaring that the president should have the right to summarily declare any citizen a terrorist and whisk them off to prisons without charge and without access to a lawyer, would have been labeled a communist and laughed at in derision.
Today the man who is president because of a stolen election does all those things with impunity. We have lost the 500-year-old right of Habeus Corpus. The Republican elite rape the treasury for their personal gain. We have become a nation that invades the weak and tortures the helpless. We are despised by decent people throughout the world.
Enough is enough. This idealogy has to be more than discredited. It must be soundly resisted, defeated, dismantled, and thrown on the dust-heap of History, like fascism and National Socialism before it.
