Mike Huckabee surging? Oh dear

RepublicansBy Tim Grieve:

Having raised a paltry $800,000 in the most recent quarter, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback has reportedly decided to drop out of the 2008 presidential race. Sources tell the Associated Press that Brownback will announce his decision in Topeka Friday.

Ironically, the hard-right Republican's decision to bail comes just as other competitors for the GOP nomination are racing for the mantle of "true conservative." With Fred Thompson failing to make much of an impression and Brownback headed for the door, it's probably a very good day to be Mike Huckabee, who already seems to be surging in Iowa.

Comments:
I agree with you totally. This is a very good set of events for Huckabee as he position himself to win Iowa and the nomination.

Well... I wouldn't go so far as to say he can win the nomination. He's a non-believer in evolution making some progress in Iowa. That's not really saying much.

Good for Huckabee. Victor, you're becoming obsessed! LOL

Admit it. You like the guy. Just a little. Seriously, he believes that government can do some good things for people. Just like Bill Clinton. Who was also from Hope.

;P

I'm not obsessed. He could be from Hope but using him in the same sentence as Bill Clinton is heresy (if I wasn't an atheist your life would be on the line :) )

Huckabee has three strikes against him: 1) He's a Republican. 2) He doesn't believe in evolution. 3) He has a funny name.

He's OUT!!

I mentioned Huckabee and Clinton in two separate sentences.

*smirk*

Ooops.

smartass :-p

Hey, I'm just trying to help you keep your facts straight.
