Idiot of the Day: Lonewacko
By VictorM: Commenting on a poll by the NY Times that showed a majority of Americans support Health Insurance for everyone, this right-wing blogger has this to say: The problem is that the Democratic Party has a problem understanding that "Americans" word, and think it includes all of Mexico and most of the rest of the world. I ask, are people born this stupid or do right-winger have to go to some school to learn this "skill"?

You just call him an idiot but don't explain why. Fact is, this is the second (I believe consecutive) NYT editorial concerning immigration which makes reference to 'Americans' as including foreign nationals (the first was titled 'They [illegal aliens] Are Americans'. Look it up in the dictionary--American = U.S. citizen. So why exactly is Lonewacko an idiot for pointing that fact out?
Wow, I thought it was pretty obvious why I was calling him an idiot. But I'll spell it out.
He says that Democrats think Americans include "all of Mexico and most of the rest of the world". This type of hyperbole is idiotic, hence the Idiot of the Day reference.
Democrats know full well what "Americans" are. And if you follow the link you'll see he retracted that statement because most of the comments to his post pointed that out. At least he realized the statement was an idiotic thing to say. Hard to believe you don't!
Also, I wasn't referencing the NY Times, which I have no doubt you're misquoting anyway, so there was no point in bringing that up.
