Bush Outreach: Words But Not Deeds
By VictorM: In the Washington Post, Dan Froomkin says: "President Bush was self-deprecating but unapologetic during his Friday visit to a gathering of House Democrats -- a delicate combination, even for him, and the latest example of his willingness to reach out to Democrats in words, but not in deeds." The truth is that referring to the Democratic party as the "Democrat party" was no accident or mangling of the English language, as Mr. Bush suggested. The man was just being a prick, as usual.
