Taking Birth Control Pills While Pregnant

Sandra, 20 from California asks...
I just found out I was pregnant about 2 days ago. I'm about 9 weeks pregnant. This is going to be my 2nd child. But I'm worried because at the moment I was still taking my birth control pill. Would this in any way affect my unborn baby?

Stacy Says...
To cover all my bases, I have to say that technically, yes, there is a slight chance it affected your baby. HOWEVER, sooooo many women have been on birth control pills and gotten pregnant and their babies couldn't be healthier. Please, please, please, don't worry about it. I had minor surgery when I didn't know I was pregnant and was taking painkillers (Percocet) and my baby has no defects or health problems. You should be fine!
