Lower Back Ache

Sally, 29 from Nairobi, Kenya asks...
Hi, I have just discovered am pregnant with my 2nd baby, about just a month gone. Unlike my first baby, I have been having really uncomfortable lower back pain that aches the whole day especially today. Is that normal or should I go to the doctor? Thanks.

Stacy Says...
Normal, normal, normal. Even though we are in our same bodies, we cannot compare pregnancies and assume something is wrong because it doesn't *feel* like the first. I had back aches from the very beginning. As long as it isn't accompanied by sharp abdominal pains and bleeding, just relax. Put a heating pad on your lower back, try stretching or prenatal yoga, find a comfy position anything to relieve the pressure.
