He claims they are just friends

Kim asks: My boyfriend has a new "friend". They talk on the phone and text message each other more than he does with any of his guy friends. He constantly tells me how great she is, knowing that he is hurting my feelings. They say they are just getting to know each other and that they are just friends. Should I believe him?
