Apology for complicity in American slavery
I find this very interesting and wonder if any other church groups will ever consider similar action.
From the Kansas City Star:
From the Kansas City Star:
When the General Convention of the Episcopal Church meets later this month, it will consider a proposal that would express the church's official apology for its complicity in American slavery. But there's more to it, reports say. The word "reparations" may not adequately convey what some people think needs to be done. But it's the term being used.

How can WE (humans alive today) apologize for something that happened, like, 150 years ago. I'm sorry that it happened but what could WE possibly do about it today?? Give it up. You can't keep saying you're sorry/apologizing/making reparations FOREVER!!
I look at it this way, if this particular church is in the history books for "complicity with slavery", I think its nice that they want it on the record that it was a mistake.
But, I don't agree with reparations. As Stacy said, "Give it up."

It happened here in Oz with the Aboriginals. We have a sorry day every year for something that happened forever ago and noo one wanted in the first place. No one likes it, but it keeps them off our backs for five seconds.
it's just about keeping people happy and quite for as long as possible. It doesn't actually MEAN anything if you think about it logically. Sorry is just a word. It doesn't really have any meaning.
