I have a really annoying answer to this: You'll know when you know.
In my opinion, finding someone to marry is easy...you just KNOW with all of your heart and soul. There are NO DOUBTS and it just FEELS OBVIOUS to both of you.
If you are the one for him, forever, you'll know. He'll treat you like you'll be together forever and he'll be EXCITED to spend forever with you.
You'll just know.
It's in his words. It's in his actions. It's in the way he looks at you. It's in the way he talks about you when you're not around.

Asking the guy is a waste of time because he'll probably lie to you if he just wants to have sex. Asking your girlfriends is a waste or time because they don't really want to hurt your feelings. Most guys will label a girl marriage material or sleeping material after having a 1 minute conversation with a girl. It's more of a universal classification than a specific person thing. If you have your career together and he could see you as a potential mother, you are probably seen as marriage material. If you go to the bar everynight and pick up random guys, probably not the type of girl he sees as a keeper.
