Testing Your Faith?

Over the most recent few weeks, several developments have occurred that might test the faith of some. Namely, the following come to mind:

  • The discovery of Judas's gospels seem to indicate that the relationship between Jesus and Judas was different than history has portrayed, namely, that Jesus asked Judas to betray Him, for unknown reasons. (Read full details of how the document was found, treated, tested for accuracy, etc. here).
  • Fossil discoveries have scientists pointing to the "missing link" that, as they see it, proves evolution is right.
  • A study showed that people who were ill and were prayed for by others, actually showed more complications than those who didn't have prayer on their side (we actually posted about this before right here.)

Do these events in any way shake your belief system?

    Comments:
Does it shake my faith? OF COURSE NOT! First of all, Judas was told he was going to betray Jesus, did that and killed himself the very next day (Matt 27:3-10). Not much time to write a "gospel".

AND just because people are finding STORIES written by biblical figures--does not make them gospels!!! There are FOUR gospels already included in the bible. That's it! End of story! God didn't forget to finish the bible and leave stories scattered around the world for us to find.

New discoveries like this will forever pop-up challenging the Christian faith and asking everyone to question their beliefs and to destroy the Church.

I bet God is slapping himself in the forehead right now.

"I left a guidebook, but I didn't end the lesson! The lesson continues! I didn't become mute as soon as the bible was finished. I have more to SAY! Why doesn't anyone listen anymore? Everyone is fixated on my very first statements and have closed their eyes to the rest of my lessons....le sigh."

(God is a big Pepe LePew fan...thus the french sigh..)

God is everything and everywhere and continues to speak to us every day. The question is...Will we listen?

    No, my faith isn't shaken.
