Ways that you can tell if a boy is interested
Aaliyah, 17, from Illinois, asks: How and what are some ways that you can tell if a boy is interested in you when he sees you? Keep in mind that he doesn't know me, but I like him to death. He sees me often. What's the key thing you can say or do, to let him know that your interested?

You can tell if a boy is interest in you if he changes his behavior when he sees you. Could be something subtle, but if you pay attention you'll notice it. For example, if he's being loud with his friends, does he quiet down when he sees you? One problem: is he doing that for you or for the girl behind you? It sucks when that happens.

Victor, I like most of your comments, they are sensible most of the time. However, it seems to me only nervous or insecure or very young (read immature) guys would change their behavior noticeably when the girl they like is around. What about mature, confident guys who know how to control their behavior? How do we tell in that case?

hey um i have two questions the first one is...this boy i talk to all the time i cant tell if he likes me or not..he flirts but then he dosent...idk hez very odd..but we talk on the phone for hours and hours and we seem to have a good time together when we are together but its just something that i cant point out...he is just not an obvious person when it comes to these things..and my 2nd question is my ex we have been on and off and we stopped talking in december and we just now started talking but only because i wanted to..now he has a girlfriend but we talk about personal things and he said he would leave his girlfriend for me but only because of the sex cuz we had lost our virginity together and im the only person he has been with and the same for me..does he still have feelings for me?

Hi Aaliyah,
You might try talking to him and finding out what he is interested in. There is no way to really make this guy like you, that's up to him. If he shows interest, you can ask him out or wait for him to ask you out. If he doesn't show interest move onto the next guy. I'm sure there will be another guy you like who comes along.

ok, there is this guy at my school, who i know looks at me alot, and anytime i say hi to him he smiles alot. BUt he is very violent, really. Like he takes books away from me and stuff. I am too afraid to talk to this guy I really like. Ever since I found out I liked him, I'e been to nervous to look at him. He seemed to like me before because he kept staring at me. Theres this guy at work that I am really interested in. I know he likes me because he tried asking my sister what kind of guys I like! He asked if I was single. OK, this guy who's really bold just says he likes me; er "is in love with me." The problem is, I don't even know this guy! He told me over the Internet, and for all I know, could like in another state. He compliments me and says things like: "You are welcome sweetest of hearts. I really like you, so it's easy to compliment you." I don't like him back, I'm fine with just being friends, and this is all so sudden, but what should I say so that I don't hurt his feelings but let him know that I only want to be his friend? i really like this guy and have for two years now.. i asked him out before and he said no but he would take me to a dance. Now this year i am in all of his classes. Every single one of which i sit right next to him by assignment not by choice. I catch him staring at me a lot and im not sure if he likes me. Right so theres this boy who i still really like. He dumped me after 6 days and i asked his friends why he dumped me and they said it was because he felt sorry for me. I still really love him and my feelings for him are getting stronger. He knows i like him and he smiles at me everytime he sees me but i wanna know if he feels the same. HEELPP !

um the boy i like has a girlfriend but she sits with other girls and i sit with other people and when he sees me he just sits right next to me if there is space for him. it happens at other places to when i sit down and somebody else is going to sit next to me he pushes them out they way to sit next to me or reverse he sits there while somebody almost sat there.

ok so there is this kid and he is a year older then me and i really like him even though i really dont know him. i also think that someone i know told him that i liked him. but since the first time i meet him he would say hi and then my name. he is the one that always says something first, even his friend sometimes says hi to me when i see him. and since our lockers on on the same set but are at different ends they came up to me but this was happening when classes were going on. my friend even asked him when she saw him and his friend in the libary and came over and was saying stuff to this other girl but i think they were just being mean. so when my friend say him she asked o do you like____ and she said my name. my friend told me she heard him say i love___(insert name)but every low. they only thing is i am not sure if he says that to every girl he knows??
